Here is a list of the outcomes for all the dispute resolution methods used.

The parties agreed to settle in the middle at a £400 decrease in rent for 3 months, and to send the workmen over on a Sunday to fix the pipes.

No legal costs were incurred.

The parties agreed to settle at a £300 decrease in rent for 3 months, and to discuss renewing the lease and potentially signing an agreement to lease the top unit of the bakery. Workmen would also be sent over to fix the pipes.

Each party will pay for its own legal costs, with the cost of the mediation split equally.

The Landlord has to pay:

  • £3,000 for loss of business, and
  • £2,400 for damage to property, plus interest.

The Landlord shall also pay £1,500 of legal costs.
